From the very beginning, the intention of Muddy Colors has been to feature a rotating roster of various artists and experts in the SFF genre. The hope was that as one person left, a new one would join, ultimately resulting in an entirely new roster of artists every few years. With time, I hope that the Muddy Colors name will become synonymous with 'A place of learning', rather than just a specific person or two.
For the past year and a half, the contributors of Muddy Colors have provided our readers with a new post every weekday, never missing a single day. I am extremely proud to say that we will now be posting on Saturdays as well... thanks to the help of a few new members!
We have put great consideration into asking very specific members join us, trying to fill particular niches that we felt the blog lacked. It is our hope that these new contributors will bring fresh insight and inspiration to all of out readers.
It is with great pride that I would like to introduce you all to our newest additions:
Serge Birault
Most of the Muddy Colors contributors are somewhat proficient in digital techniques, but none of us would consider ourselves true digital artists. Digital techniques are such an important aspect of the business, we felt it was absolutely imperative to bring in someone who can really show our readers what the medium has to offer. And who better to do that than the amazingly talented Serge Birault?
Terryl Whitlatch
For me, one of the most glaring omissions from Muddy Colors has always been that of a female voice. Though, it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying. There are, unfortunately, just not a lot of women in this industry to pick from. This is why it is a particular thrill for me to welcome Terryl Whitlatch to our ranks. A seasoned instructor, Terryl also brings with her decades of experience in the film industry.
Tim Bruckner
We have always focused on 2-dimensional art here at Muddy Colors, which is a shame really. Many, if not most of us, implement some sort of rudimentary model making into our reference acquisition process. Further more, a large portion of the industry revolves around sculptors, including toys, collectables, and maquettes for film. Unfortunately, my knowledge in the field is greatly lacking. Which is why it is such an honor to welcome one of my personal favorites, Tim Bruckner, to the blog.
Please join me in giving our newest members a warm welcome. I expect I am just as excited as many of you to see what they have in store for us!
